Pet Surgery

Pet Surgery

From routine procedures to lump removals and soft-tissue surgery, our team operates with modern anaesthesia, careful pain relief and full nurse monitoring - so your pet is safe and comfortable throughout.

Every surgery starts with a pre-anaesthetic assessment so we can tailor the anaesthetic to your pet, and our nurses monitor them closely from induction through to recovery. Modern pain relief means your pet is comfortable during and after the procedure, and you'll go home with clear aftercare instructions.

For more complex work, we have a referral surgeon on site, so many advanced orthopaedic procedures - cruciate ligament repair including TPLO, fracture repair and patella luxation correction - can be done right here rather than travelling to the city.

If we've found a lump, we can often test it first to decide whether removal is needed - and when it is, send it away for a definitive diagnosis. We'll always talk you through the plan, the options and the likely outcome before anything goes ahead.

Pet Surgery - your questions

Is anaesthetic safe for my pet?
With modern drugs, a pre-anaesthetic check and continuous nurse monitoring, anaesthetic is very safe for the vast majority of pets. We assess each pet individually and tailor everything to them.
Will my pet be in pain after surgery?
We use modern, multi-step pain relief so your pet is comfortable during and after their procedure, and send you home with pain relief and clear aftercare advice.
Do you remove lumps?
Yes. We can often test a lump first to decide if it needs removing, then carry out the surgery and, where appropriate, send the lump away for a definitive diagnosis.
Do you do orthopaedic and referral surgery?
Yes. We have a referral surgeon on site, so many advanced orthopaedic procedures - such as cruciate ligament repair (including TPLO), fracture repair and patella luxation surgery - can be done here rather than referring you to the city.
