Advanced Cattle Surgery

Advanced Cattle Surgery

When a cow needs surgery, experience matters. Led by an RCVS-recognised Advanced Cattle Vet, our team handles the advanced procedures many practices refer on, often right there on your farm.

A calving gone wrong or a twisted gut does not wait for an appointment. Our vets are set up to handle advanced cattle surgery on farm and at the clinic, so your cow gets the right procedure quickly rather than a long trip or a lost animal.

Because the practice is led by a vet recognised at advanced level in cattle health and production, we take on the surgeries that many clinics send away - and we are happy to take referrals from other practices too.

Surgery we perform

  • Caesarean sections
  • LDA (left displaced abomasum) surgery
  • Teat and udder surgery
  • Wound repair and abscess surgery
  • Eye and cancer-eye surgery
  • Difficult calvings and obstetric work

Advanced Cattle Surgery - your questions

Can you do surgery on farm?
Much of our cattle surgery - caesareans, LDAs, teat work - is done on farm. For some procedures the clinic is better, and we will tell you which is right for your animal.
Do you take surgical referrals from other vets?
Yes. With an Advanced Cattle Vet on the team, we are happy to take referrals for cattle surgery and complex cases from other practices.
What happens if a calving goes badly wrong?
Call us straight away. We can talk you through it, get to you fast, and if a caesarean or assisted calving is needed we are equipped to do it on the spot.
